Emily B. Riggin 102, of Millville died Saturday in Genesis Elder Care Millville Center. Born in Port Norris she was the daughter of the late Morton and Louella Fowler Bateman the wife of the late John C. Riggin. Mrs. Riggin lived most of her life in Port Norris and had resided in Millville the past 15 years.

She was a retired Telephone Operator for New Jersey Bell Telephone at the Port Norris Exchange. Mrs. Riggin was a member of the Commercial Twp. School Board for 29 years. The Haleyville School Library was named in her honor. She was a substitute Organist for local churches and was a member of the Philadelphia Musical Academy Conservatory.

Surviving are her daughters, Joan E. Harper of Bridgeton, Jane E. Lindsay of Millville, Janete E. Slimmer and her husband Donald of Millville, son, John C. Riggin, Jr. and his wife Grace of Millville, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a grandson Derek Slimmer and great granddaughter Anne Harper.

Funeral services will be held at the Hoffman Funeral Homes 2507 High St. Port Norris on Wednesday at noon with Rev. John Robbins officiating. Interment will be in Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Memorial donations may be made to the Commercial Twp. Bd. Of Education for the Emily B. Riggin Library C/O Haleyville Mauricetown School P.O. Box 165 Port Norris, N.J. 08349.
